Our lobby team in Austin brings us good news this afternoon.
HB 500, Chairman Harvey Hilderbran’s omnibus Margin Tax reform bill, is on the House Calendar for Friday. This bill includes an exclusion from gross revenue for purposes of the Margin Tax payments received from a tenant of commercial real property for ad valorem taxes and any tax or excise imposed on rents.
This bill making it through Calendars Committee is excellent progress. We'll keep you posted.
